TERMS AND CONDITIONS AGREEMENT

Welcome to Cara Matchmaking. Please carefully read the following terms and conditions (“Agreement”) before using our services or website. This Agreement sets forth the legally binding terms and conditions for your use of the Site and the Services provided by Cara Matchmaking, operated by LA Ventures LLC. By accessing or using the Site or Services in any manner, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.

SERVICES

Cara Matchmaking provides a range of matchmaking services, including personalized introductions, dating and relationship coaching, professional photo referrals, virtual and in-person events, wardrobe consultations, nutrition support referrals, and other related offerings. Our services are designed for eligible adults seeking meaningful romantic connections. These services are constantly evolving and may change from time to time.

New services may include AI-supported communications and digital matchmaking tools to enhance efficiency, communication, and compatibility assessments. These tools are supportive—not substitutive—of the personal, human-centered nature of our matchmaking and coaching.

ELIGIBILITY

To use these services, you must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age and single or separated from your spouse.  Registering with us, you represent and warrant that you are legally eligible and emotionally available for dating and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete. You agree to promptly update any information that changes. By agreeing to these terms, you represent and warrant that you have never been convicted of a felony and that you are not required to register as a sex offender with any government entity. 

MEMBERSHIP & FEES

You may submit a profile for free.  A paid membership allows you to receive additional services, such as a consultation, personalized matchmaking, coaching sessions, and invitations to events.

Memberships terms are non-transferable and non-refundable. Membership begins after the completion of your first consultation or coaching session.

  • Membership Holds: You may request a one-month membership hold per term by submitting a written request.  Unused time is applied to the end of the membership period.

  • No Guarantees: While we are committed to providing professional introductions and support, we do not guarantee a specific number of matches, dates, or a particular relationship outcome.

PAYMENTS & REFUND POLICY

All service fees, membership purchases, and event registrations are non-refundable. We invest time, resources, and personalized attention into each member’s experience. Once you engage our services, these efforts are underway and thus non-reversible.

You agree not to initiate chargebacks with your bank or credit card company for any fees paid. Any issues should first be communicated directly with us so we may resolve them appropriately. Initiating a chargeback without such communication may result in termination of services and legal recovery of costs.

CANCELLATION POLICY

You may cancel your membership at any time with written notice; however, no refunds will be issued for services already rendered or remaining membership time. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your membership without refund if you violate this Agreement or engage in behavior that is harmful, disrespectful, or deceptive.

COMMUNICATION POLICY

By providing your contact information, you consent to receive emails, phone calls, and SMS/text messages from Cara Matchmaking. These communications may include service updates, match notifications, event details, scheduling reminders, and promotional messages.

Standard messaging and data rates may apply. You may opt out of communications at any time by notifying us in writing.

MEMBER CONDUCT

We expect all members to behave respectfully, honestly, and responsibly. You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent yourself or your intentions

  • Harass, stalk, or harm another individual

  • Use our services for commercial, exploitative, or illicit purposes

  • Interfere with the operations or security of our services

Feedback is required after introductions or events to better serve you and our other members. Consistent failure to communicate feedback may limit or suspend your service access.

CONFIDENTIALITY & PRIVACY

You agree to maintain confidentiality about other members, introductions, and event attendees. Do not share, post, or disclose personal or identifying information without explicit consent.

We maintain strict standards of confidentiality and privacy. Your information will never be sold or shared without your consent, except where legally required. Please see our full Privacy Policy for more details.

PHOTO & TESTIMONIAL USE
Cara Matchmaking Services may use photographs taken at events or written testimonials provided by clients for marketing and promotional purposes, including use on social media, websites, and printed materials. Individual profile photos submitted for matchmaking purposes will not be used for marketing or shared publicly. These profile photos will only be shared privately with other clients who are potential matches, as part of the matchmaking process.

USE OF TECHNOLOGY

To enrich and streamline the matchmaking experience, Cara Matchmaking may integrate select technology tools—including AI-supported systems—for internal use in communications, compatibility analysis, scheduling, and profile development. These systems are designed to assist our human team in supporting you more efficiently and effectively.

We do not use AI to impersonate real people, replace personal interactions, or make final match selections.

THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS

From time to time, we may refer you to outside providers (e.g., stylists, nutritionists, photographers). While we make reasonable efforts to recommend qualified professionals, we are not responsible for the services, pricing, or outcomes provided by third parties. Any third-party service you engage is at your discretion.

FORCE MAJEURE

We shall not be held responsible for any failure or delay in performance of our services when such failure or delay is due to causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: acts of God, pandemic-related restrictions, government regulations, labor disputes, power outages, or technical failures.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LA Ventures LLC, and its representatives shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our Services or your inability to access them. You agree that our maximum liability under this Agreement is limited to the total fees you have paid for Services.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any disputes arising out of this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Cumberland County, Maine. You waive your right to bring claims against Cara Matchmaking as part of a class action or other joint proceeding.

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Maine, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and LA Ventures LLC with respect to the Services and supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications. If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

REVISIONS

We reserve the right to modify this Agreement at any time. Changes become effective upon posting to our website. Continued use of the Services after such posting constitutes your acceptance of any changes.

DIGITAL ACCEPTANCE

By continuing to access our website, engage in Services, or indicate agreement by email, phone, or in writing, you are providing your legally binding digital signature to this Agreement.
